New Patient Information
Our Commitment to Specialized Care
Thank you for considering our practice for your care. We are a highly specialized ENT and skull base practice focused on complex sinus, nasal, and skull base conditions. Our goal is to provide thoughtful, comprehensive care to patients who will most benefit from our expertise. To help us provide the highest quality care and maintain timely communication and follow-up for established patients, all new patients are now required to have a referral from another healthcare provider before scheduling.
Why We Require Referrals
This process helps us:
- Determine whether our practice is the best fit for your condition
- Coordinate care with another provider involved in your healthcare
- Maintain continuity of care outside of our specialty practice
As a specialty practice, we cannot serve as a patient’s primary care provider or manage all aspects of ongoing medical care, including long term maintenance of prescriptions.
Because of the highly specialized nature of our practice and limited appointment availability, not all referred patients will be scheduled for consultation. Each referral is carefully reviewed to determine whether our practice is the most appropriate fit for a patient’s condition and care needs.
How You Can Help
We ask patients to:
- Maintain an ongoing relationship with a primary care and/or referring provider (neurologist, e.g.)
- Provide complete medical records, imaging, and prior testing before appointments (See the Imaging Information for Patients page for important instructions)
- Understand that our office focuses specifically on ENT and skull base conditions
- Be patient with scheduling and response times during periods of high demand
We understand that waiting for care can be frustrating, especially for patients who have often been searching for answers for a long time. However, due to the complexity of the conditions we treat and the high demand for specialty care, appointments and surgery scheduling are often booked several months in advance.
Next Steps
If you believe you may benefit from care in our practice, please ask your provider to submit a referral along with any relevant records, imaging, and testing results for review. Once your information has been reviewed, our team will contact you regarding next steps and whether an appointment with our practice is appropriate. Please be sure to also review our Insurance & Billing and Imaging Information for Patients pages for important information.
Thank you for your understanding and for allowing us to participate in your care
