Imaging Process for Patients
Please upload all imaging you have had completed prior to your scheduled appointment so our providers can review it with you. Additional imaging may be recommended, but this will allow our providers to have your complete history and make accurate recommendations about your care. If imaging is not uploaded before your appointment, it may be necessary to re-schedule or schedule additional appointments.
Local Facilities in Colorado
We can access Imaging done in Colorado at Health Images, Touchstone Imaging, or Invision Sally Jobe so you do not need to follow the below processes. Please make sure your imaging is scheduled a few days before your follow-up to make sure we receive your results.
All other Imaging Locations
Please request a copy of your results on a CD or USB flash drive. Once you have received the copy, please follow the steps below so we are able to review the results.
Unfortunately, small practices like ours cannot access every platform used by imaging facilities to view all our patients' imaging. We want you to have the flexibility to choose the imaging facility that works best for you. That’s why we have partnered with RocketRad Solutions, a secure platform that lets us view your studies from any location. This means you can select the most convenient option, and we’ll still be able to access your imaging safely and efficiently. There are costs for this which must be paid for by the patient at time of upload. Please understand, these fees are based on cost of the interface, and the time it takes our team to upload them if we must do it in the office.
Preferred Method: Patient Uploads To Rocketrad
Cost: $15.00/study paid at time of upload
- Using USB or a UBC adapter, plug in an Optical Disc Drive (ODD) to your computer
- Insert your CD into the ODD plugged into your computer – In your folders, a new folder should appear for the CD with your imaging
- Open a Web browser and go to this link.
- Click on new upload - select the imaging disc file and follow the steps to upload imaging
- Imaging Files will typically be found in a DICOM folder; otherwise select the one with the most numbers/highest number of images
- Download the study first, then be sure to upload secondarily, and it should notify once fully complete; there are two steps in this process and both need to be completed, please be attentive to the process while uploading to ensure it is properly downloaded AND uploaded
- It will ask you if you would like to upload more; if you have multiple files/CDs you will have to repeat the uploading process
Once you have uploaded your imaging to RocketRad, please send us a message through your Athena Patient Portal to notify us that it has been completed. Please also make sure you have a scheduled appointment with one of our providers to review your imaging results and discuss next steps, as imaging results are not routinely communicated outside of an appointment.

Alternative Method: Office Uploads To Rocketrad
Cost: $25/Study Paid Prior To Uploading
If you choose not to complete the above preferred process, you may send it to our office to complete for you.
- Imaging must be received in our office at least 7 Business Days prior to your appointment
- We will NOT be able to review imaging brought in at the time of your appointment
- One of our staff members will call to collect the fee for uploading by our office
- If this imaging is unable to be uploaded before your appointment, it may need to be rescheduled. Please keep this in mind when scheduling both your follow-up and your imaging appointments.
